Race: Ishgardian Elezen
Orientation: HomosexualPallas is a young priest of the Ishgard Orthodox Church. He recently graduated the Saint Endalim Scholasticate among the top of his class to become a member of the clergy.Pallas is markedly short for an elezen, and slender of build, with deft, long-fingered hands. He carries himself with a stately grace that, unfortunately for him, is somewhat undercut by his youthful appearance.He regards the teachings of the Halonic Scriptures and the role of the Holy See in Ishgard’s daily life with grave seriousness. Pallas earnestly believes it is the Church’s role to guide the faith and collective spirit of the Ishgardian people, despite the terrible scandals of the Dragonsong War, and Archbishop Thordan VII in particular, coming to light.Some of Pallas’s regular duties include giving sermons at Saint Reymanaud Cathedral, administering blessings to the holy knights, visiting the Brume to bless the elderly or those who are ill, assisting with charitable donations, and leading religious classes that help provide a general education to Brume-born children. He is not an Inquisitor, but he may at times be called upon to assist them.Pallas can sometimes seem sanctimonious, stuffy, and quick to judge, but he also possesses intelligence, compassion, and a burgeoning curiosity. He appears to think highly of his station, but it is a facade he uses to hide his naiveté. He clings to the doctrine of the Church, which provides a sense of stability in a wide and frightening world he knows little about.In his leisure time, Pallas enjoys music, hot tea, semi-sweet chocolate, creating flower arrangements, singing, and (although it’s difficult to get him to admit to such) handsome men.Pallas fears, and does not trust, dragons or Dravanians. Although he did not fight directly in the Dragonsong War, its shadow weighed heavy during the time he studied in the Scholasticate. He has seen many of his countrymen horribly scarred and burned by dragons, and triaged no small number of them in Ishgard’s infirmaries.He views heresy as being a danger to the time-honored Ishgardian way of life, and Dravanians themselves as monsters and beasts. However, Pallas is still young, and his opinions are not set in stone.

Pallas’s FamilyThe Solorois family is a small noble House serving under House Fortemps. The family crest consists of four stars arranged around a white swan in flight against a navy background. For generations, his lineage has produced notable priests, battlemages, and inquisitors for the Holy See, a tradition young Pallas was eager to carry on.The scandal and subsequent death of the Archbishop came as a terrible shock to both Pallas’s family, and himself. In the wake of such upset and political upheaval, the Solorois family strives harder than ever to uphold its time-honored values, even when it may seem such traditions cannot survive in a changing Ishgard.While Pallas does not deny the truth of the origin of the Dragonsong War, he believes the Dravanians should not be entirely absolved of responsibility in the conflict.Pallas and Barnaby Wyznfarr(Barnaby is my alt, his carrd can be viewed here.)After the shock and confusion of Archbishop Thordan’s scandal, it became considerably less safe for members of the Orthodox Church to move about unescorted, especially in the rougher areas of the city. Many commonfolk have become increasingly resentful of the Church, and of its perceived role in enforcing Ishgard’s highly stratified class system.Under these unsettled social conditions, Pallas hired Barnaby to be his personal guard, bucking tradition by choosing an outsider Hellsguard over a Halonic temple knight. At the time, Pallas had assumed Barnaby would be brutish, and he was impressed by the roegadyn’s massive build, even if he wouldn’t admit as much. However, Barnaby turned out to be much more peaceful than he expected.Pallas maintained a rather low opinion of his new guard, until an incident occurred while the pair were traveling on the road in Coerthas, whereby the roegadyn valiantly defended the priest from highwaymen. After this event, Pallas’s opinion of Barnaby changed, and they became fast friends, despite their differences in worldview.It is Barnaby’s encouragement which leads Pallas to visit various Ishgardian taverns and speakeasys, suggesting the priest would benefit from broadening his horizons to include less religious establishments.

I work full time, and my time to play ffxiv is limited. As such, I often schedule in-game RP in advance.In out-of-character communication I will always do my best to be respectful and seek consent on anything involving the characters of others. I also like to brainstorm ideas back and forth. Although some of my characters are gentle souls, I as the writer am not adverse to exploring more serious themes and storylines.What I find acceptable will vary by situation and by my faith in the intentions of my writing partner. If I find something uncomfortable, I will tell you; likewise, please do the same for me. I want RP to be a mutually satisfying writing collaboration, and a vehicle to propel each others’ characters forward in fulfilling ways.I have many interests outside of ffxiv, including digital illustration, paleontology, wildlife and nature, small parrots, storytelling in games, and 80s and 90s retro video games, cartoons, and media.
